Talking to Your Doctor
To make the most of your doctor visit, be prepared to discuss details of your ulcerative colitis (UC) symptoms with your doctor.
The more information you can give your doctor, the easier it will be for him or her to decide on a treatment.
Once you and your doctor decide on a treatment, be sure to provide feedback on how it's working. The goal of UC medicine is to treat symptoms and induce remission, a period of time without symptoms. If the treatment you're on is not getting you to remission, ask your doctor for another option. It may take a couple of different medicines before you find one that's right for you.
